Hello Anon

Thank you for writing!

By af do you mean atrial fibrillation?

For the benefit of our readers, Atrial fibrillation (also called AFib or AF) is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. At least 2.7 million Americans are living with AFib.

In general, you should be cautious when taking cold medicine, flu medicine and cough medicine as they may have ingredients that can over-stimulate the heart.

Are you concerned about some medication that you are on now, Anon? We look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Susan
