Hi MEGIRL,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. You're not too vivid. We're here to help, and important details sometimes help to know how to respond. Thanks for your concern though.
As you know, anytime you have unprotected sex you can get potentially get pregnant. It's hard for me to say what is going on with your cycle, you could be having your period, or it could be something else. Have you called your doctor yet to tell them you missed pills? They would be able to help you figure out what's going on, and best next steps.
Since you're having trouble remembering in the mornings, maybe try taking them at bedtime or when you brush your teeth. It may work to attach the idea of taking them with something you always do at a particular time of the day. You may even want to put a Post-it on your mirror that says, "PILL" in big letters so you don't forget. Otherwise, you may want to talk with your doctor about finding a different method of birth control that works better with your lifestyle. Here is an advocacy sheet I wrote recently about missing pills, I hope it helps:

Good luck, and let us know what your doctor says if you talk with them.
