missed 2 periods while on birth control

In June had a yearly check up. Got birth control changed to Lessina 28. Haven't had a period since end of July. I have taken a pregnancy test actucally August 20, test came back negative. What's going on?

It sounds as though your body is just taking its time adjusting to the birth control. It's not rare to have lighter periods or to skip one when you start a new kind of oral contraceptive. I'm glad you took a pregnancy test to be sure, though. The drugs.com page for Lessina includes, as a possible side effect, "changes in menstrual period."

How regular were you before, and how many days (about) did you used to have in a cycle? By my calculation, if you skipped the August period entirely, you should be having one anytime now, right? I think that if you get to the end of September without having a period (so you will have skipped two), you should give your ob/gyn a call and at least ask to talk to their nurse or nurse practitioner for an opinion.
