Okay , so I've missed my period . I was supposed to start 3 days ago . I did have spotting for five days a week before my period was supposed to come. And the spotting only would last from the morning to afternoon disappear and come the morning very very light and would range from light pink to brown to light pale pink.

Hello Shouldibeworried,

Has this ever happened before?

The menstrual cycle is regulated by the hormones, estrogen, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and progesterone. Any thing that interferes with this process and upsets the balance can causes changes in your menstrual cycle.

A hormonal imbalance ranging from the thyroid to the pituitary gland can be to blame. Depending on your age, this may be an early sign of perimenopause. Stress, illness, and even some birth control pills can trigger irregularity in your menstrual cycle.

Shouldibeworried, if you continue to experience irregular menstrual cycles. or are very concerned, schedule an appointment with your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
