Hi, I am a 27 yo lady and I didn't menstruate for 9months, but I started menstruating again last month, after which i noticed blood spotting when i clean up after using the toilet and on my white pant once. this went on for some days and then i noticed the read spotting changed to dark brown, i noticed that just once. i have gone to see the gp and i tested negative to pregnancy test. also, i have boil in my private part and on my breast, i am presently taking medication for this. i have a burning sensation in my private part as well, to which i am applying a carnesten cream. also, i have been diagonised with fibroid, the size and location has not been determined. I am concerned about the spotting, what could be wrong.

Hi Gillete,
thanks for the reply.

I was given a pill to induce blood flow in August, which worked but afterwards my menstrual cycle did not start until October when it started without me taking any medication.

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

After going a while without having a menstrual cycle, you can expect that you are going to continue experiencing irregular cycles until perhaps your hormomes balance out. What happened that you started your menstrual cycle? Did your doctor prescribe birth control or hormones to start your cycle?

Also, the medication you are using for your boil could be interfering with your menstrual cycle as well.

The spotting is your menstrual cycle in some form, but to be on the safe side, I would share your symptoms with your doctor.

I hope this helps.
Be well,
~Gillette
