Missed period, negative urine test but I feel pregnant, tested too early?

I had sex on the 13th, 14th, and 21st of July. My period was due around the 23rd. I usually have a 26 to 30 day cycle, it varies. I went to the Dr. on the 28th because I just felt like crud, had a negative urine test and this week said my blood work was normal. Not sure if they tested my blood for pregnancy. I've never missed a period and not been pregnant. I have bloating, twinges in my pelvic area, larger breast but not sore, acid reflux, and a metallic taste in my mouth. Could I still be pregnant maybe tested too early or maybe just have some sort of hormonal issue? The Dr. scheduled a sono for me on the 18th to make sure everything is normal. He gave me a prescription for provera to start my period, should I take it or wait a bit longer? We've been trying to get pregnant for the last year after a missed miscarriage.

I saw my ob/gyn. I kinda felt like he was like oh didn't start your period here's some drugs. He said the sono was to rule out any conditions I might have. He wasn't very helpful and spent a whole two minutes with me.

Ugh. That kind of behavior makes me start looking for a different doctor. If you have questions, ask them. If you can't get an adequate explanation, find a new doctor. Health is too important to risk it with a practitioner who isn't fully invested in what's happening.

Hi Momma

Did you ask the doctor these questions? Was the doctor you saw a gynecologist?

I can't specifically advise you, but if it isn't necessary to take the provera right away, it might be worth asking the doctor about waiting until after the ultrasound. There may be a reason he wants you to take it first-maybe he wants to be sure you have your period before the test. But I think it's worth a call to ask and clarify.

Thank you for writing, and please let us know how things go for you.
