Hi science nerd,

If he does not enjoy sex, have you asked him why? It is important for you two to be sexually compatible, and he may have a medical condition that a doctor could help him with.

The caveat: it would need to be something that IS an issue for him. Otherwise, there is nothing anyone can do. If he is fine with the relationship as it is, then you would need to be OK with it "as-is" or decide what type of romantic relationship you do want. It is OK to not be sexually-compatible, and to just be friends. It is OK if he is too scared to go to the doctor, but he would need to make a decision about what he wants, how dedicated he is to the relationship, etc. If he is unwilling to address your concern, what does that say about his future with you, and any future concerns you have?
