My birth control of choice is nuvaring but today my blood clot was the size of more than half of my tampon. Its basically clotting and barely blood... Am I paranoid or what shall I do!

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

In general blood clots during your period are no cause for alarm.  They are caused when your body does not produce anticoagulants fast enough to thin the blood before it is expelled.

In your case however, the clots are larger than a quarter.  When is happens it is necessary to see an OBGYN doctor.  A pap smear and/or pelvic exam with allow the doctor to find any condition that is causing the irregularity.
