Could i have taken the pregnancy test too soon? and actually be pregnant?

Well i'm 28yrs and i do have the love of my life David who he and i are trying to have a child. We've been wanting this forever, i'm not worried if i get pregnant but worried about why i still haven't seen Ariel and the PT i've taken have stated that i'm not pregnant. So that's what i'm worried about cause we want this so bad.

I understand! This is a frustrating time, but I hope you can make it enjoyable, too. The wondering and waiting does seem to emotionally take-over your life, but hopefully you can find comfort in knowing that this is part of the normal process.
Have you read some of the positive and up-lifting information about how to conceive, so that it may help take your mind off of evaluating when your period is coming?
My husband and I wanted a second child, too, and it surprisingly took us 6 months to become pregnant. I really thought it would happen instantly! Do you know that it can take up to 12 months to conceive, and this is perfectly fine, normal and healthy? You have "only" about a 20% chance each cycle to conceive, so hopefully you can know that your time will come when it is supposed to. Worrying and over-analyzing won't help (I know you know this!), and practicing patience and stress-relieving techniques will really help you throughout your pregnancy (when it does happen!).
What positive things about this "trying" time can you focus on instead?
To answer your specific questions: many women have late periods and are not pregnant, and that is OK (it sounds like you may be worried something is wrong physically with you??). Give yourself more time to either start your period, or take another hpt (you are still not very "late") if you choose...but don't over-do-it!
That is my advice, I hope it helps. If you are still worried after your period has not started for 35-days after your last menstrual period (the first day of it), and you take a hpt and it is negative...call your doctor for an appointment. You can go in for a pre-pregnancy appointment to have a baseline evaluation...that may help ease your mind.

I'm assuming your period was supposed to begin on Thursday, October 15th?
You sound like you are extremely worried, and you may want to call your doctor to talk with a nurse. I'm saying this, because inserting Q-tips inside your vagina to check for blood may be starting to be a little compulsive; you will know if you have a period or bleeding or not. Trying to search for it will not help.
Please know this information:
- A home pregnancy test is very reliable (up to 99%) at detecting any "pregnancy hormone" in your body once you have missed your period. You are just a mere 4 days late on your period, and a hpt would most likely have detected a pregnancy, if you were pregnant.
- To know for sure, you can go to your doctor for a pregnancy test
- Many women have late, or even missed periods, and are not pregnant.
- Please try to stop worrying about, and searching for, your period, and wait a week. If your period does not start in a week, I would recommend not taking another hpt, as you sound like you need to talk with a health care professional in-person who can ease your mind.
Can you tell us more about your story, as I am not sure how old you are, if you are in a relationship or scared about an affair, or a boyfriend's "mistake", or did you just start high school...I am not sure why the level of fear and anxiety? Let us know, so we can help you through the emotional stages, too. This will be important information, because my initial questions to you (are you trying to become pregnant) were unanswered, and the more we know about your situation, the more we can help you.

Gosh, I wish I could tell you for sure. But it all depends on what happens next.
If you bled just that short time and you have no more bleeding, it might have been implantation bleeding, from an embryo attaching itself to the side of the uterus. But if the bleeding comes back today and continues, it might have just been the start of a period.
Since you said your period is due today (Thursday), it seems like that might have been the beginning. If you go a few more days and see no more bleeding, then I'd still do the pregnancy test and see what it says.

hey Diane ok here it is there's was nothing all day yesterday then when i woke up this morning at 6:55am i went to the bathroom and i had like a small line of blood then nothing. the rest of the day was clear so i took a q tip and inserted it inside me to see if there was any blood left and all saw was the light brown residue like yesterday, but no acting period. I took a another test this morning wen i saw the line of blood the test sad not pregnant again. when should i take another test? I'm not sure anymore.

Hi Diane here it is Ariel which my period did not show up today. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom I wiped I saw light brown on the tissue. Then again today but no blood. I also can feel as if my vagina closed as if I can't put anything in it. What does this mean Diane.

Hi here's an update while as I were at work yesterday
