Menstrual cycles may happen around the same date every month or they may be irregular. A menstrual period is considered late if it hasn't started 5 or more days after the day you expected it to start. Missed or late periods happen for many reasons other than pregnancy. Common causes can range from hormonal imbalances to stress. As long as you are not missing periods and they are otherwise normal in duration and flow, I'd not worry too much about being a few days off.
