Today i noticed that th same brownish coloring had came back. once again its very light but at the same time no cramps. some told me i may be pregnant... or it's the birth contorl that im on...others say its my iron...i just want a clue of what it maybe or what direction should i go??? please help

Thanks for the additional information.

Your cycle can change "suddenly", and there is no cause for alarm unless you have any of the following symptoms:
- extreme pain
- excessive bleeding (soaking more than one pad or tampon every hour)
- bleeding that lasts more than 7-10 days consecutively

Your spotting on August 21st could have just been "breakthrough bleeding" which is common for birth control users, even if you have never experienced it before.

Are you still spotting or bleeding today?

Hi Ashley,
I have a few more questions for you, but to answer your question: no, this does not indicate a pregnancy. Women who have menstrual bleeding do not have viable pregnancies.

Periods can be all colors, and this is normal. Brown, pink, red...or some combination. Periods can change over time, they can start light and end heavy; they can start heavy and end light. Periods can be different colors, amounts/flow, durations; they can have symptoms or no symptoms (headache, irritability, etc). These changes are all normal.

I am a little confused as to the exact dates you have been bleeding and/or spotting. Can you tell us what day your period started on? Then, you said you stopped bleeding...and then started spotting again?

Since you mentioned you are taking birth control, this spotting in-between periods is known as "breakthrough bleeding" and is normal. How long have you been using birth control (pills, I assume?).

Well the day I started was August 10 and ended on the 15, And then i begin to spot August 21. I am on the pill and i have been on birth control for about 3 years and i've never expericed anything like this. When my periods come on they come on heavy and the last day there light. this is a first for me...
