my periods was always 28 days apart,lasting 5days no spoting.but starting march 2011 i have started spoting between periods, or aperiod that lasts 13-15 days,now i am having 2-4 full periods a month.i am 42yrs old.help

Hi Anon,
It sounds like you may be starting to go through perimenopause. One of the first symptoms of Perimenopause is a change in period. Some women have shorter, lighter periods. Other women have longer, heavier periods. For the most part irregularity is the common denominator--but it can go either way as far as frequency goes.
