nervous about lack of cm

I have been ttc for abt 5 months and just started clomid last month. i have 2 kids ages 3 & 5. when i got pregnant with them and in previous months i had always noticed my cm was good and was an indicator of ovulation. this time around when i started to check for ovulation, EVEN BEFORE STARTING CLOMID (tried for 3 months before clomid) i noticed little to no cm....what could be causing this? age?
Now on the clomid I have no cm at all...any suggestions of what i could do to increase it and is this a sign that i am unable to get pg??

thanks for your time!

thank you, that is what i am hoping. i am sorry to bother you with another question but i am also concerned about thinning uterine lining. i had read that could happen while taking clomid. how would i know if this is happening to me? the only tests that my doc told me to do was to come in on day 21 for blood work.

thanks for your help.

We have heard other women's experiencing the same thing...change or decrease in cervical mucus once they start Clomid. Even before starting Clomid, your body can have an "off" month and cervical mucus may not be as plentiful...that is not necessarily a "sign". I have told many women: our bodies are not clockwork; we are constantly acting and reacting to the environment, and our hormones, cervical mucus, cycles, emotions- everything-can alter slightly. It's OK! I think this is why some experts are now telling women to stop tracking to such an extent, as knowledge is power, but it also seems to be creating some type of over-analysis and extensive worry that is not helpful, and is causing stress. I'm sorry you are going through this, but hang in there!

thank you allison, i am so troubled by this since i used to have so much cm in the past and would always be able to tell ovulation by that. when i started to try and checked it this time i had noticed it was decreased for the first couple of months and since being on the clomid notice none at all....at a loss as to what to do. the doctor said that my hormone levels are good and to use some lubrication but i know that the lubrication is a complication w ttc. he said to just use it a little and see what happens from here. you are right that sometimes the more we know the more we have to worry about. at the same time i worry that since i do know that i need cm to conceive shouldn't i be doing something to try to fix the problem?

Not necessarily. You know your body best, but since you are well-in-tune with your body, have good lab results...perhaps the other side of this is that you DO have adequate CM, but it may not be in the same quantity or as much discharge as usual. Clomid has been known, by women, to decrease the discharge experienced, but possibly your CM is still plentiful for conception?
