Nervous about ob appt

I got my period this month and took a home test that is negative. I guess I am just asking for reasurrance that everything is fine. I am nervous because the last time I went to the ob it turned out I was prego and I had to get rid of it. So now when I go it brings back memories. Can you please give any advice to ease my nerves. Thank you

HI lizzylu,

Welcome to EmpowHer! You are understandably nervous about your OB appt given your last experience but if you got your period AND have a negative pregnancy test then you are not pregnant. You have nothing to worry about, go to your OB appointment with ease. Last time you went did it catch you by surprise? Is that why you tested this month even though you did get a period?

The reason I did test after my period this month was because when I went to my last ob appointment it caught me off guard that I was! I had spotted during my pregnancy and thought that was my period. I have had sex since then but have gotten my period every month. I am on the pill and used protection. I am just nervous because it brings back memories going there. Thank you for your help.
