I have taken home pregnancy test at least twice a month and they all come back negative. I do how ever have some cervical mucus.some probably every other day. I do not know what is going on. Please help if you can.

Hello Anonymous,

With such little information, it is impossible to say.

Time to schedule an appointment for a physical exam with your gynecologist.

I'm 27, 4'11, 78lbs (lost 5 - 10 lbs recently) and I haven't had a period since jan/feb 2016. Highly doubt I'm pregnant as I would definitely be showing by now I'm sure. I hadn't had much CM at all until a few days ago, then I started getting CM much like what I get when I'm ovulating but there's a lot of it. Any ideas of what it could be?

Hello Anonymous,

The weight loss of five to 10 pounds could be the reason.

Hello Sana,

How old are you? If you are in your late 40s to early 50s, this change in your menstrual cycle can be a sign of early perimenopause.

Otherwise, it indicates another type of hormonal imbalance. The menstrual cycle is regulated by a precise balance of hormone. Any upset, either prolonged stress, increased physical activity, illness or extreme weight gain or weight loss can cause an irregularity.

Sana, considering you have not had a normal period since April, and negative pregnancy test results, you may want to speak with your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Ria,

I appreciate how eager you are to have an answer, but you will need to wait until you see your doctor on August 2. Your physician knows your medical history, can do a physical exam and order any necessary diagnostic tests, including blood tests and an ultrasound.

Please update us once you see your doctor.
