Me and my boyfriend are trying to conceive. We had unprotected sex on Dec 20 and 21st. I have normal periods that I predict every month (sometimes im usually a day or two off). My periods start of heavy and then change to light flow. My period is scheduled to start around Dec 25th or the 26th. I started spotting on the 25th and I had some bleeding on the 26th. With this cycle my flow is very light. I normally have to change pads a couple times a day and wear two pads at night now I only have to change pads once or twice a day. My cycle was over with on the 28th and now im spotting again. My period last anywhere from 6 to 7 days every month. Could I be pregnant?

I had the same issue with my period. I was going to go to the doctor but i decided to wait. The next month I missed my period all together and I found out that I was pregnant. I had the same issue with all of my children. I would wait until your next cycle but good luck!!!

Unfortunately (since you are trying to conceive), bleeding is not an indicator of a viable pregnancy. Even if the bleeding is lighter than usual, shorter-in-duration as usual, it is still "bleeding" and is not a sign of pregnancy.

Some women may experience "implantation bleeding", but this is a misnomer..it should be called "implantation spotting", as it goes unnoticed by many women, and is best described as a "spot" of blood on underwear of toilet tissue. The fact that you had to change pads once or twice for 2-3 days would mean that this was most likely your period.

Signs of pregnancy include:
- Absence of bleeding
- Hormone-related symptoms (similar to what you may/may not experience before your period): headache, acne, sore breasts, cramping, low back ache, bloated-feeling, irritability, etc. These symptoms, since they exactly mimic PMS, are not indicative of pregnancy...only a missed period (no bleeding) and a positive pregnancy test are signs of early pregnancy.

Keep trying, and let us know if you have any other questions about conception!
