Not sure who the father is?

I had recently broken up with my husband however we were still sleeping together. I had unprotected sex with him on the sunday and tuesday. On the Monday I had unprotected sex with someone else, however took the morning after pill withing 12 hrs - I have fertility issues (have in the past). I have now found out I am 8 weeks pregnant with the conception date (using due date) to be monday (however not accurate). Please help. My husband and I are back together and we have a 2 1/2 year old, he does not know about the other person. What are the chances of it not being his, despite taking the morning after pill.
Very silly on my part I know. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Anon - Thanks for your question. That's not an easy situation to be in.

The manufacturer says the following about Plan B use: "If it is taken as directed within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure, it can significantly decrease the chance that you will become pregnant. About 7 out of every 8 women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant."

That leaves 1 woman in 8 who does become pregnant while using emergency contraception and you may be one of them. In terms of knowing who the father is, that's going to require a paternity test to be absolutely sure. I hope you are able to resolve this in a way that works well for you. Good luck! Pat
