Hi Anon,
An improper diet can cause hair loss in pets. Other options could include airborne allergies like from pollen, contact allergies from coming into contact with grasses, chemicals, cleaning products etc. You can check if there is anything new he may have come into contact with. For a proper diagnosis please take you Spaniel to the vet.
