Hey, I asked a question on another group but iv had no reply and was wondering if you could help me?

I havnt always had regular periods but for the last few months I have been. I don't really eat as well as I should but I havnt lost weight or changed my diet or anything yet now I'm 7days late for my periods. My breasts are sore and iv been getting some pains in my stomach like I would with a period only I'm not getting one and my nipples have started to be really sensitive the past few days. Do you think im pregnant or do you think iv just simply missed a period since I don't eat well enough?

sweetj172 - Thanks for your question. For future reference, all you have to do is go to the home page and look for the "Ask" box, that's in the middle area of the page, and click on it to be able to "Ask" your question.

In terms of your question, there are many reasons why women get nipple pain. Sore, tender breasts are a norm for many women, as a result of hormone changes during their menstrual cycle. Sometimes minor problems can cause this, such as a poorly fitting bra, an injury that you may have forgotten, hormonal changes, and so forth. Sometimes it can be a symptom of an infection or a more serious medical condition.

There is a condition known as mastitis that occurs most frequently among breastfeeding women, but can also occur in women who have never breastfed. You can read more about it here: https://www.empowher.com/media/reference/mastitis

If the pain continues please contact your primary care physician or gynecologist for advice and an appointment if needed.

I'm sorry you are going through this! I am not sure what it is, and it sounds like your doctors are trying to help...so let's work together.

Can you clarify a few things for me, so I can do some research for you:
1. You've had a mammogram, correct? No abnormalities were found.
2. Your Pap Smears are normal, yet you have not had a normal period in three months. What exactly are your symptoms to say it is not normal (I'm not sure what that means; how are your periods abnormal?). Are you still having periods, and what symptoms are you having?
3. Are you keeping a pain journal? If not, I can send you a link to one.

I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Did the doctors identify what a possible cause for miscarrying was? Have your doctors talked with you about your symptoms, and what have they said?
