im 21 years old sexually active with 1 person, my boyfriend who is now away at boot camp. he was home for Christmas from the 20-3 of January. i was due to have my period on the 4th of January. i didn't get my period until saturday the 7th, im on birth control and have never been late more than a day. i have never missed a period either. once i had started on saturday evening it was real dark red and a very lite amount. i continued to bleed and it would change from really dark to very pale pink. yesterday i stopped actually bleeding and now im spotting dark brown. whats wrong with me?

Hi Carrie,
There is nothing seemingly wrong with you. A period that is late by a few days isn't really late at all. The brown spotting that you are seeing now is just old blood that's being released.
If you start bleeding heavily then please contact your doctor.
