Within 10 months I have had 2 fusions done, lower first, 10 month later the ct. and bone scan w/contrast found 3 more fractures, so I was fused again, I only have 1 l left, it has been 8 weeks in more pain now taking more meds then before 1 st. fused, why waiting for yet another MRI to see what is going on, I only have been walking not to much, cannot sleep w/zanex, I am so afraid that I am going to go into liver failure or something, the only thing wrong with me is my back, also lost so much weight...I take 2 Norco every 4 hours around the clock, I have tried to cut back to see how the pain was, did I pay for that after 2 days, I know the pain is so real, I do not want to take anything stronger, I like to be alert and be normal. I do not want drugs that is not an answer for me nor do I want more surgery ever.... I am 62, I want a life. Please do you have any answers, I loved my surgeon but now I have doubts about him, I just want to be who I was, this has taken 2 years of my life.....

I am troubled to hear how much you are suffering. I can appreciate your desire to manage your pain without taking high doses of narcotics.I can also share your strong desire to return to the normal life you once had.
Have you recently spoken with your surgeon and shared how much you are suffering?
My only suggestion is to seek a physician who specializes in pain management and maybe, to get a second opinion.

Thank you Maryann, yes I have tried, when I went in they said he had an emergency surgery and come back later to see his asst. The Dr. Was still seeing 2 more paintens, I said just need two seconds please, I was afraid no come back, well I was so upset, because I thought he cared, silly me....so I said tell the dr I'm going to see my Attorney, that got him quick, needless to say he was pissed, to have to go that far to get his attention was pretty sad, I saw the real him come out, all he cared about was the money from surgery, not me as a person... What a wake up call...treated me very rude, would not answer any of my concerns, threw me some mor MRI, exrays that was it.... I'm thinking what kind of person is this, what if someone treated his mom this way....I am now trying to help myself, cut med down to 1 every 5 hrs, not easy but feeling pain I'm use to I have suffered 10 years with it seen many many nero's befor chosing him, I guess they are all the same, need to keep their life style going and repeat business, well not me, I will never let anyone cut me again....so I got the referral for testing, it Will be very hard to go back and see him again,
