Pregnant or Not?

My last period was Aug. 9 I have always had a cycle that was from 22-24 days. I went and saw my doctor when I was week late. She stated I should go by 28 days which does not seem right to me. So in her mind I was only 1 day late. By the time I saw her I had cramping for a week with no period. She agreed to do a blood test, but it cam out negative. She blew it off as no big deal and says woman miss a period every now and then. I am 33 years old and have never missed a period until I was pregnant with my daughter.

I am still with no period have had exhaustion for the last week, lower back pain and while eating my dinner the other night I almost got sick. I have had some dizziness/light headedness. I'm not sure what to do. Do I go back to my OB/GYN or should I call my primary care physican.
Is it possible I could be pregnant even though the blood test came back negative? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the advice however I didn't say I never had a late period. I said, I have totally missed my period last month. I am 17 days late and no sign of my period. I had a blood test for pregnancy taken at the doctors office that was negative? Should I really bother with a home pregnancy test? With all the other symptoms I noted above do I call my OB/GYN or my PCP.

Hi sma0821,
Being 34 myself, I am almost dumbfounded that you never had a late period rather than pregnancy with your daughter. I don't think I can count how many times my periods have been late, early, etc. I think this is possibly why your doctor "fluffed" it off as nothing new.

Besides that point, you may want to wait another couple days since it appears you may be having symptoms of your pre-menstrual cycle and it may just be late. If it does not start in let's say another 3 days, try a home pregnancy test. The blood test may have been to early to detect pregnancy. For home pregnancy tests, I usually tell women to wait at least 7 days after a missed period (just to be sure their periods don't start).
