I have been on the HCG for 10 days. I started my period, like normal, on day 8 of the hcg. However, I am experiencing very heavy bleeding which is not normal for me. I stopped taking the hcg injections the day I started, but the bleeding is so heavy I am wondering if something is wrong. Is this normal? or should I talk to my Dr.?

I too have been on HCG started on 1/3. I am doing the injections. I am also on BC pills. Skipped the period cycle then started as soon as I started my new pack of pills on 1/15. Stopped the shot and resumed on Friday 1/20 when I awoke to no blood on the tp in the am. Then later that day it came again. Same thing on Saturday. Called the Dr. who said to discontinue until the bleeding stops which I have. Also attiributed it to extreme weight loss. I have lost 18 lbs since 1/3 going from 207 to 189 Here I am day 10 and no sign of slowing down. This is highly unusual for me as I am in my early 40's and my periods typically are 2-3 days one day heavy. I am going through a clinic in my area. Which I will call again today then I will call my regular doctor.

Hi Anonymous,
Losing weight at such a rapid speed can cause a missed or irregular period. I'm glad you are taking steps for your health and going to a clinic. Please keep us posted,
Rosa

HCG injections are illegal if you purchase them without a prescription because The FDA requires that patients on HCG are monitored sufficiently. Please do not attempt to purchase the HCG kits sold online-- we don't know where they come from or how they are regulated.

If HCG injections are illegal and not approved by the FDA then why do doctors prescribe the shots?

Yes, please call your doctor about your abnormal heavy bleeding.
It was my understanding that hcG injections were illegal (not approved by FDA), and not proven effective for weight loss. Are you working with a medical doctor regarding effective methods for weight loss?
