I am 33 yrs old and sexually active. Before using the progesterone cream, my period is normal and lasted between 3 & 4 days only (spotting for 1 - 2 days and flow for 1 - 2 days). On Aug 1, 2012, I started using the cream and followed the instructions religiously. My period came on time as expected but I've noticed that the days of my period has prolonged - no longer between 3 - 4 days. This is what's happening now: On Aug 14 - 16, I was spotting. On the 17th, still no heavy flow but saw blood on the pad. On the 18 - 19th, I had flow but not the regular flow as of the previous months but enough to warrant that it's a period. This, in itself, is already 6 days into the making and ongoing. Is this normal as a first time user? Please note: because I thought that I'm pregnant, I started to use the cream again on the 17th. Please I need professional advise. Thanks so much!

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question. Have you tried a pregnancy test? This will be your first step to see if you are pregnant. It appears from your cycle background that you are having some bleeding every month and this is would uncommon for pregnancy concerns but it is not completely unheard of either.

If you are concerned about pregnancy, take the test. If you are negative, in reality your periods may be uncommon but it sounds as if you are still having bleeding every month. You indicated that there is no pain so everything may be on schedule but the bleeding may be changing and this is a common occurance as we get older and the cycle changes without much factual reasoning behind it. I hope this helps and keep us posted on the pregnancy results.

Good luck,

Missie
