Q:

Risk of pregnancy?

Soooo, my boyfriend is always telling me that I have nothing to worry about, but I can't seem to convince myself. My boyfriend and I use a condom (correctly) every time and he pulls out before coming every time and we have never experienced any problems before. I have never been on birth control, but we are always very careful. We had sex on October 11th this month, that's it. I was just on my period from October 3rd-9th. The time we had sex the condom did not have any breaks or tears. I had been feeling like I was getting some symptoms of pregnancy, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, and breast pain on October 17th, one week later. They all showed up one the same day and I didn't think my period would start that soon again and those are the symptoms that normally happen. I took a pregnancy test out of panic even though I know it was too early to tell if I were to be pregnant. Now I am still dizzy and get out of breath easily with some breast pain and still worried. I am not sure what to do because I am so young and am not ready to have a child, even though I know i was running a risk. Now I just feel stupid, worried, and helpless waiting until I can take another pregnancy test.

Am I just over reacting or could I actually be pregnant even though we used the precautions that we did? I stress out easily and I know that if you think about something so much you can make your body feel like its actually happening (empathy symptoms). I just need help and some peace of mind so I can focus on the next step I need to take.

Please help! I need direction and peace!

Hi Damita,

It would be extremely odd to have pregnancy symptoms a week after conception even if you were pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms take at least a month or so to be noticeable. Since today is only the 21st and your not due for another period until November, you will have to wait and see if you miss a period. If you do miss your period, take a pregnancy test. You should also consider possible birth control methods for yourself if you continue to be sexually active for another form of a backup method of birth control.

I hope this helps.

Do you think that my symptoms may be related to being anemic. I am not sure if I am or not but I do not eat red meat and I am somewhat underweight for my height (137lbs 6ft)?? I know I will have to wait to see but its just nerve racking and stressful.
