Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. It is often stereotyped that the elderly will show signs of acting in childish ways when their age is not consistent with their behavior. This is a psychological condition rather than something that can be changed by say a medical doctor. Has your friend seen a psychologist for their behavior? Here is a good article that may be helpful to understand the behavior from the Department of Health and Human Services http://www.sociology.vt.edu/course/aging/ArlukeLevine.pdf.

I hope this helps. Keep us posted.
