I had sex 2 days after my period ended. We didn't use protection but he pulled out before anything happened. I had a lung infection that my doctor prescribed biaxin (an antibiotic) for that I have been taking for about 5 days. Today I had some brown spotting, 6 days before my period is supposed to come. Could I be pregnant? Could my antibiotic cause me to spot early?
I don't have any other symptoms, and my cycle is usually 30 days with a period about 6-7 days long.

Hi sassy2791,
Thanks for your question, and for joining EmpowHER. Medication like antibiotic can affect your period, just like being sick also can. The surest way to find out if you are pregnant is to wait to see if you miss your period. Spotting/bleeding is generally an indication you are not pregnant, especially if it lasts longer than a day. If the bleeding continues, it may be your period early. Hope that makes sense.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing. In the future you may want to use backup protection (for example, condom +withdrawal method, or withdrawal + get on birth control pill) to avoid undue stress in this regard.
