I am 55 and had breast implants when i was 18 i have never had a mammogram. one of my implants is softer than the other and I wanted to make sure everything is ok but I was afraid the mammogram might rupture it. I has scheduled a mri mammogram with contrast to see if my implant had rupture or is leaking on feb 1. since then found out I have a leaky aortic valve and moderate aortic regurge and mild tricuspid regurge and I am scheduled to get an echocardiogram feb 9. I was wondering if I should get the mri with contrast or without and the die they put in me last time I broke out in hives

Hello. Thank you for posting.

You must tell your doctor about the reaction you had the last time you had the contrast as he or she is the one that ordered it. They might be able to give you something before the test to avoid or lessen the hives. Or they may decide to do it without the contrast. Your doctor will advise you on this. Of course, the decision would be yours.
