I've been a little more conscious about my weight lately, so I started a routine of 1-hour low-intensity jogging every weekend. I warm up and cool down before and after this, but some people say taking a bath after exercising can be harmful. My mother even claims her friend died because she showered right after working out at the gym because her body got "shocked" by the sudden cold. Is that even possible? How long do I have to cool down and rest before hitting the showers anyway? Thanks and more power.

Hi Sardonyx
It is perfectly fine to bathe or shower right after a workout. Some people take cold showers to cool down after a workout or a hot day. For a cool shower to kill you, you would have to have a serious health problem to start, one that would likely have you too ill to shower on your own in the first place.
Perhaps your mother heard an old wive's tale and is just trying to keep you safe. Rest assured it is perfectly fine to bathe or shower after a workout.
Thank you for writing and congrats on the workout regimen. That is awesome!
