spotting or period, which is it more likely to be?

hello,
So I was suppose to get my period yesterday, (June, 9 2013) but i was delayed. So i went to the clinic and did a urine test, and it came out negative, the doctor said if i didnt get my period this week, to come back in to get another test. This morning, ( June 10, 2013) I went to the bathroom and noticed a little light blood on the tissue. Could this already be spotting after one day of missing my period, or is this my period? Also I dont feel hardly any cramps or anything, i did have grumbling sounds in my stomach that i associated with hunger. Please help. Thanks
