No, there is not a "huge" chance that you could be pregnant, but there is a chance. You should be using a condom for the next 7 days after you missed pills, but since you had sex without a condom after you completed your "make up" pills from doubling-up, then you likely had enough hormones in your body to prevent a pregnancy, or to prevent a fertilized egg from implanting. Please know: this is an educated guess, and not a guarantee (women's bodies are not like clockwork, so the only real way to know is with a missed period). The reason for using alternate birth control is it can take up to 7 days for your pills to be back up to their 99% effectiveness rate.

The latex-free condoms are made from polyurethane, and there are female condoms made from polyurethane (Planned Parenthood talks about these), and also male condoms made from polyurethane. You can call your local Planned Parenthood to inquire about where to purchase latex-free condoms, or ask your local pharmacy.

Since you also want to know about your chance for pregnancy-- have you had unprotected sex every day for the past 5 days? Have you heard of Emergency Contraception?

You may want to call your doctor's office, and ask their recommendation as well.

My boyfriend is aware that I haven't been on my pill for a week, n I'm also allergic tp latex so I'm not able to use condoms! I have been going through a tough time right now, my grandpa suddenly passed away last Friday n I was really close with him. I'm really stressed out right now about everything so no right now I'm not okay...I'm upset, sad, n most of all scared.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa passing away suddenly last week. Do you have enough support from friends (as family is likely grieving, too)? Let us know if you would like to talk about this more, but please know choosing a risky behavior (unprotected sex) can just add more pain, grief, stress and anxiety to an already-upsetting situation.

You are in luck---have you not heard about latex-free condoms?! Many people are allergic to latex, and there are many condoms on the market that do not contain latex. And, if you need to be close with your boyfriend, let him know that adding more stress by having unprotected sex is not what you need right now. There are so many ways to be physically close that can (arguably) be even more intimate that do not include intercourse.

Please take care, and let us know if you need to talk any more.

Did you tell your doctor's office that you were OUT of birth control pills?! They would not turn you away, and would give you a sample pack to get you through until you could see your doctor. Please advocate for yourself next time, and let them know!

Also, since you have been off of birth control for at least a week, and it sounds like another week in the future, why are you choosing to have unprotected sex? And, it's every day?! Again, I'm more concerned about you not advocating for yourself, and would love to know what's going on? Are you OK? You can choose to use a condom, or you can choose to not have intercourse (there are many fun, creative sexual activities that you can both do to increase your intimacy without having intercourse). Does your boyfriend listen to you, and know that he is having unprotected sex?

Of course you know, that there is a chance of pregnancy when having intercourse and no protection. The more frequently you have unprotected sex, the higher your chances of having an unwanted pregnancy.

It is extremely important to use a condom or other barrier method if you are not using hormonal contraception (and, when you do start your new pack, it will be important to continue using alternate form of birth control for 7 days!).
