This is just an odd feeling for me. I have always had sore breast pryor but never to the extent of hard to wear a bra. I am concerned if this is something that i should call my ob/gyn about.

Hi! I have been experiencing sore breasts for about 6 days now and just yesterday they started to tingle also. My last period started Aug 19th and I am pretty sure I ovulated sometime between Sept 2-4. I do not track my ovulation as I am not trying to get pregnant but I can usually tell when I ovulate because of an increase in discharge. My husband and I had sex twice on the 4th. I am not on birth control but he did pull out both times. About 2 days after this my breasts became very sore and have been ever since. I am also starting to break out on my face which hasn't happened since I was pregnant with my daughter. I am also bloated and a little crampy. My period isn't due until the 18th and I have never gotten any menstrual symptoms except like the day before it starts and that is usually just cramps. I've never had sore breasts like this except when I was pregnant. Is it too early for me to take a HPT? I feel like these symptoms are too early to be from pregnancy but I have no other explanation for them.

Hi, My name is Daltyn. I'm a 17 year old female. For the past several months I've had an itchy tingling sensation in both of my nipples and my breast are extremely achy. I know for sure I am not pregnant, and I haven't had any changes in my cycle. I've been on LoSeasonique for about two years now to regulate my cycle, and I don't think it's because of that. I'm just wondering what or if there's anything wrong or anything I can or am supposed to do? I'm not sure if it means that my breasts are growing, or not..but I'm not experiencing any problems or differences in my bra sizes or anything, although my dress size went from anywhere from an 8 to a 12, and that's the length of the area around my chest. Help?

Hi, I recently came off the pill (just over one month ago) because I broke up with my boyfriend and wanted to give me body a break. However this past week I've started noticing tenderness and soreness of my nipples. The last time I had intercourse I was on the pill, but had miss two around that time. My period is over a week late, but I've just pressumed this is because of the pill. Could the soreness be a result of an expectant period, or is there a chance I could be pregnant? Any advice would be welcome as I am only 19 and starting to panic. Thanks

Hi Anonymous,
Chances are, you are not pregnant. But a pregnancy test will put your mind at ease. If you don't want to do it alone, you can request one from your doctor's office. Period symptoms often can be similar to early pregnancy symptoms, so that generally is not a good indicator of what it going on. That late period is a better indicator, but again, having just come off the pill, it's hard to say. Talk with your doctor to be sure.
Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.

I need some advice. My last period started a little odd with spotting off and on for 3 days starting 12/13, then full AF on the 16th. It was done by the 21st. I re-started birth control pills on the 20th (I had been off since July). My husband and I had sex Christmas eve morning, without any extra protection and he did inside me. And last night (the 26th) I noticed my bbs a little tender. Then today they were more tender especially on the sides and sometimes had some tingling of the nipples. I should also mention that last month before my last period we thought there was a chance I could be PG. Now I'm not tracking my ovulation, but am confused as to this soreness is related to hormones/birth control pills, an impending stork visit or something else. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Anonymous,
Given the fact that you completed your period on Dec. 16th, and you've been on birth control since Dec. 20th, you probably are not pregnant. But if you are concerned, you can take a pregnancy test to be sure if you miss your next period. Keep track of your breast tenderness, and if it's persistent, you may want to schedule a visit to the doctor to see what could be going on and get checked out. Make sure there aren't any detectable lumps, or discharge, redness, or other symptoms.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks for the site. It had alot of good info but it really doesn't tell me why my breasts hurt. I took the first pill 8 days ago and the second one 7 days ago. I had my period so I don't think there is anyway I am pregnant and all the test are negative.

Did your doctor exam your breasts? You may need to call your doctor, and discuss your symptoms with the nurse on-call.

Please keep us updated!

Hi I'm 17 years old and I have irregular periods and the doctor told me its normal because I'm so active and that I don't need birth control. Me and my boyfriend had sex and the condom didny break until afer we were done but I took next choice because it broke right after he pulled out. I took next choice at 2 the next day. My period was a week late but I finally had it and it was very heavy. My nipples were tender and they still are and my period has been done for three days. Every pregnancy test I have taken is negative. I don't know why they are still so sore. Cound you possibly tell me a reason??
