I have just found that I have an Enterocele Vaginal Prolapse. Who do you recommend in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area who specialized in treatment of this problem? I read there are good clinics in NC who use the daVinci method - are there any in AZ you know of? Thank you so much...

Vaginal prolapsw can include several different pelvic organs- the bladder, uterus, small intestine or rectum. If you have an enterocele, it usually occurs in conjunction with either a bladder prolapse or rectal prolapse, and all prolapses are corrected together.
Robotics is a great tool, but using the robot to fix an enterocele is like scratching your left ear with your right hand- there's a more direct way to do it, that's less invasive: meaning through the vagina. And this way, the abdominal cavity is avoided. To have an evaluation for correction also means seeing someone who does them all the time- in Phoenix/Scottsdale there are some high operators, myself included- Matthew Karlovsky, M.D. www.urodoc.net

Hey there, you may also want to check with Dr. Matthew Karlovsky who is in Chandler. You can find out more about him by clicking on this link. Will you please update us?

If you go to http://www.mypelvichealth.org and click on find a provider; you can enter the state you live in and it will list the urogynecologists for that state (they are the specialists for pelvic floor prolapse). Good luck!
