I am 25 years old. My boyfriend and myself have had unprotected sex quite a few times since March 2014. My last period was 35 days ago which was April 27th 2014. I today, June 5th 2014, just started to bleed. It is not likw my regular periods. It is light and a bright red color. It doesn't show up on my pad but when I whipe it shows up. I don't know if this means I am not pregnant and I just started my period again or if something is wrong. I also am not feeling pain like I usually would or feeling like I am going to pass out like I usually would on my regular periods. Some advice would really be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes. I missed my period the whole month of May. The bleeding is still the same bright red color as it was yesterday and has not got heavier or lighter. It is exactly the same. This has never happened to me before. I have no idea what it means. If it doesn't go away tomorrow or change I will make a doctors appointment asap.

Have you taken a home pregnancy test? I would start with that since you are already past your expected period day.

I would call the doctor and schedule an appointment riht away (since it might take a while to get you in).

Make note of the changes and let the doctor know when you come in.

Yes. I took 2 pregnancy tests in May and 1 June 1st. They came up negitive but this has never happened to me before and I have never had a bright red (looks like fake vampire blood red) bleeding before. Also this is extremely light compared to any other periods I have had. Not to mention I have no cramping or pains like I normally would. I will definitely call my doctor to make an appointment.

Guide

Hello MsHakey110213,

My first concern is the absence of a period the month of May and frequent unprotected sexual intercourse. I am wondering if you are pregnant. If so, the second concern is bright red spotting. This does not sound like implantation bleeding, which is pink to brownish in color.

Wait and see if the spotting progresses to a normal menstrual flow. If this does not happen, I think it is time to consult your physician.

Regards,
Maryann
