Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

We don't have BP charts on this site.

Normal/ideal blood pressure is 120/80. New guidelines for what high blood pressure is have come out recently, at 130/80 mm Hg rather than 140/90. This doesn't mean someone with these numbers has troublesome high pressure, it just means that they need to look into your diet and exercise regime to see if there are changes they can make. This is a more preventative measure as we see more and more that prevention and early intervention is key.

A blood pressure reading lower than 90 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) for the top number (systolic) or 60 mm Hg for the bottom number (diastolic) is generally considered low blood pressure.

Low blood pressure might seem desirable, and for some people, it causes no problems. Doctors don't advise any treatment if there are no symptoms and many people have no symptoms.

However, for other people, abnormally low blood pressure (hypotension) can cause dizziness and fainting. In severe cases, low blood pressure can be life-threatening.

The causes of low blood pressure can range from dehydration to serious medical or surgical disorders. It's important to find out what's causing your low blood pressure so that it can be treated - if you are having any symptoms.
