what is adenomatous goiter? isn't cancerous?

have a sister in law done FNB ,, and her doctor said going to remove entire adenomatous goiter and they will need to biopsy again...

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Goiters can can cancerous tissue in them, but don't always. That is why they biopsy, so they can determine if further treatment is needed following surgery. Other treatment like medication may be necessary depending on your sister-in-law's condition.
