Q:

What are the chances of pregnancy?

I have been on Seasonale for less than three months and I took my sugar pills a little over a week before I was supposed to because I'd be visiting my boyfriend and at that time I would have gotten my "period" and I didn't want to have it then because I hardly get to see him. So, the week I was visiting him, I didn't take my pills at my regular time of 7:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but instead took them between 11 pm-3am. Then I missed Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's pills. We were having unprotected sex everyday, usually 2+ times a day. On the Monday that I was leaving, I started to bleed heavily which only lasted three days. My concern is, even though I bled, could I still have gotten pregnant considering I was having unprotected sex and he never pulled out? Or is this just a withdrawal bleed from not taking my pills?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Anytime you miss a pill, your chances for pregnancy to occur are higher.  The bleeding might have been from not taking the pills.  You'll need to wait until your period is due and take a home pregnancy test.

Best,

Daisy
