I have been told I have acceptable levels of hormones even though in the case of progesterone I am a .69 which is the lower end of normal. I want to know if this is acceptable or not.

Hello, Anon, and what a great question.

Here's my question for you: Are you having difficulty with menopause? Are there certain symptoms you're experiencing that made you get your hormone levels tested?

"Acceptable" just means that you are in the normal range -- which means simply that most women in your age group fall between a certain set of numbers in their hormone levels. But one woman's normal may be high for another woman or low for yet a third.

The most important thing we can accomplish through hormone testing is trying to figure out what we need as individuals. It may be that a progesterone level of .69 is not acceptable for you, and that's why I ask about your particular symptoms. Are your other hormones within "acceptable" levels as well?

Let us know and maybe we can find something out for you.
