Dear Misskrazyred21,

Thank you so much for visiting the website and for asking your question. Welcome to EmpowHer--I'm so glad you found us!

There are many things that can cause periods to be missed in addition to pregnancy. For example, are you by chance under a lot of stress? I remember when my daughter was young how hard and tiring it could be to take care of a toddler non-stop. Or have you lost some weight lately and/or are you doing a lot of exercising? Sometimes they can cause your period to skip. Since you are having a bit of spotting at your usual time I'm wondering if this is what is going on.

Here is a link to an article from this website that lists other reasons for a missed period--you have to scroll down a bit to find the information:

Even if some of these issues are true for you, if it were me, I'd make an appointment with my OB/GYN just to make sure nothing else is going on. Even though you are young, it might not be a bad idea to get your hormone levels checked, just to be sure everything is okay. And at the doctor's office they will probably give you an additional pregnancy test just to rule that out (are you having any other signs of pregnancy?) Plus going in to see the doctor will hopefully help put your mind at ease. Three months is a long time to spend wondering what is going on. Please post again to let us know what you find out, and if you need any additional information. Big hugs to you, Michelle
