Hi, Anon.

Thank you for writing.

Pain between the shoulder blades, otherwise known as interscapular pain, can have many causes. The most common cause(s) of pain between the shoulder blades is a muscle strain. Degenerative disc disease in the cervical spine and thoracic spine can cause referred pain to this region as well. It is important to be aware that it may also be a sign of something more serious like a heart attack, lung infection or other lung condition.
