Hi Anonymous, Painful menstrual periods usually the best over counter medicine is Motrin (ibuprofen). Take them as you need to especially before your getting your period. All the pain is mostly in the muscles. If you experience severe pain keep a warm heating pad on your stomach laying down which helps alot.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question. Painful menstrual cycles are usually caused by cramping which subsides after a couple days however, you can purchase Midol over the counter which will help immensely with the cramping pains and bloating. I hope this helps.
