Anon,
I want to give you a huge pat on the back for your desire to stop drinking. And I know you can do it. But please, please seek medical care. Delirium tremens is a sign of severe alcohol withdrawal, and you shouldn't go through it by yourself. How long ago was your last drink?
Can you go to the ER? Better yet, can you call a taxi or a friend to take you?
At the ER, they will manage your symptoms and monitor your condition. Delirium tremens can cause body tremors, hallucinations, confusion, agitation, fear, seizures (commonly 24-48 hours after the last drink), insomnia, depression, chest or stomach pain, and more.
Will you go, Anon? You have made a huge step by deciding to stop drinking. Now let others help you do it, OK?
And will you write back when you feel better and let us know how it's going?
