Q:

When I was sixteen I was told that I didn't have a uterus. After I got married two years ago I found out that I do have a uterus but I was told it was not connected. Can I get preganant?

Hi godis4u,

Welcome to EmpowHER. The reproductive function of the uterus is to accept a fertilized ovum which passes through the utero-tubal junction from the fallopian tube.  It might be important to discuss this with your doctor and he can have imaging test done, to know what is the condition of your uterus.  If it's a uterine abnormalities it does not affect your ability to become pregnant and give birth. However, depending on the abnormality, it may make it more difficult for you to carry your baby for the full nine months of pregnancy.

Best,

Daisy
