The question was "why does the top of my foot have stabbing pains?" Not the bottom, where the heel is.

Thank you for your message.

Many things can cause this type of stabbing pain on the top of the foot.

-Physical trauma, such as after surgery or an accident
-Pinched Nerve
-Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
-Certain medications or other illness.

See your doctor for an evaluation.
