Oh, I totally understand. But don't be fearful or anxious. They will probably test your urine, draw some blood to check your hormone levels, and possibly do a pelvic exam and/or a vaginal sonogram. None of that hurts. Have you had a vaginal sonogram before? It is a long thin sonogram machine that the doctor inserts into your vagina so that she or he can see details of your ovaries, uterus, etc. It doesn't hurt at all, but if you've never had one you may feel a bit awkward. (Your feet are in stirrups just like with a pap smear).

Promise me you'll call and at least make an appointment, OK? Won't it be nice to actually figure out what's up?

Hi! Thanks for your response, no nothing has changed. I took the pregnancy test a month after the 1st miss and now 2 weeks after the 2nd miss....i dont have any symptoms, my breasts usually get very tender and i feel pain in my abdomen and tummy , i am getting the tummy pain , well more like an ovulation pain every few days....but nothing more...i know i should just go to the gynae, if i do what test do they perform to determine the cause of it ....oh i must say i very allergic to pain so thats kind of putting me off going.

Hi, Kitty, and thank you for your question!

Quite a few things can actually cause a period to stop for a cycle or two (or more, sometimes). Have you gained or lost a lot of weight recently? Has there been a change in your level of activity? Have you made any change in medicines?

And yes, stress can be a major culprit. Stress can put our hormones in a tizzy, and the body responds to that in different ways.

It's not rare to skip one period, though skipping two is less common. How soon after missing your first period did you take the pregnancy tests, and were they spaced far enough apart? Have you had any other symptoms?
