my period is 20 days late. I have pcos and not currently on any birth control for the past 5 months. I took a pregnancy test every week after my missed period and they have all came back negative. The last time I had sex it was protected. Can I still be pregnant?

Guide

Hello, Anon.

If you had protected sex (without mishap) and are yielding negative pregnancy results, this indicates you are not pregnant.

For the benefit of our readers, PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges. Symptoms of PCOS include menstrual irregularity, (late, missed, shorter or longer periods) as well as excess hair growth, acne, and obesity for some women. So, this is likely why your period is late. Treatment often includes birth control pills to normalize periods.
