I'm 21 years old and for about 6-7 months now I noticed my periods have been getting lighter and shorter. My period still comes on time every 28 days, I get my usual cramps and all but my period only now lasts 2 days maximum instead of my usual 4 days, and I only get 1 day of medium flow, and the second day is more so spotting then it stops by the 3rd day fully.
Any idea what could be going on? Thank you!
I did stop taking control last May of 2014 and since then my periods have been shorter and lighter.

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.
Your body goes through a big change when you stop taking birth control pills due to the lack of hormones. It could be that your body is not able to produce the amount of estrogen needed to have regular periods.
In general it is only necessary to have a regular period unless you are trying to get pregnant or you have severe negative symptoms such a debilitating pain. Birth control pills are usually the #1 solution doctors recommend. However, there are other holistic methods such as herbal teas that can contribute to a more regular period. Once again, remember that an irregular period is no cause for alarm and is not dangerous.
