Q:

Will Folvite Tablets delay the periods? Does it change the menstrual cycle?

I am 24 years old female. I am taking Folvite tablets for the past 1 month as advised by the doctor (as me and my hubby are planning for a baby). My menstrual cycle is 26 days usually. Will having Folvite tablets delay the periods? My cycle has crossed 28 days by now. So are there chances of me being pregnant?

Hi Anonymous,

I'm sorry but we are not doctors and cannot recommend you taking any pills or substituting them for others. Please call your doctor to see if taking only one of your pills is okay.

Best,

Hi Kapsi,

Irregular periods are caused by: changes in your diet, illness, perimenopause, excess weight gain/weight loss, pregnancy, and some medications.

Folvite pills are used to treat folic acid deficiency and side effects include:

  • skin rash

  • itching

  • redness

  • difficulty breathing

If you have any other symptoms, please contact your doctor.

Good luck,

Rosa

Dear Anonymous,

If your period is more than one week late, please take a pregnancy test, you could be pregnant if you're trying :)

Best Wishes!

Dear Anonymous,

Gas and bloating can be caused by the food you eat-- it may also be caused by pregnancy but isn't specific to being pregnant. Please take a pregnancy test if you are concerned.
