I am 24 years old female. I am taking Folvite tablets for the past 1 month as advised by the doctor (as me and my hubby are planning for a baby). My menstrual cycle is 26 days usually. Will having Folvite tablets delay the periods? My cycle has crossed 28 days by now. So are there chances of me being pregnant?

If you're asking if taking aspirin will delay your period the answer is no.

Yoshu - Folvite is also known as Vitamin B9 and Folic Acid. It is used to treat or prevent folic acid deficiency and is a B-complex vitamin needed by the body to manufacture red blood cells. A deficiency of this vitamin causes certain types of anemia, which as you know is a low red blood cell count. It is taken by pregnant women as well as men and women who need it for various health conditions.

Let us know if this answers your question, and best wishes for your pregnancy. Pat

Hi Anonymous,

Many women have miscarriages; some planned (some unplanned) and successfully have children. Were there any concerns you had about your previous miscarriage? Did you have any medical issues associated with it? You indicated that it was planned, were there medical reasons?

HI ..

Thanks for your immediate reply. We didnt want to have a baby at that time, so i had a planned miscarriage. But now from 4 months we are trying for a baby and without a success. I dont have any medical issues after miscarriage (From 4 years). Clinically i have never tested for any issues, but my periods are normal. Can you please suggest me if i can undergo for any tests to check if any issues have arisen due to previous miscarriage?

Thanks in advance.

If you had an elected abortion four years ago without complication, this should not create any current adverse effects. In other words, an abortion (whether elective or spontaneous...also called a miscarriage) would not create fertility problems. Woman who have miscarriages may have fertility issues that caused the miscarriage, but a miscarriage does not cause a fertility issue.

How long have you been trying to conceive? It takes most couples, depending on age, 6-12 months to conceive, with frequent unprotected intercourse.

Anon,

Four months is not long. Are you aware of how to figure out when you are ovulating? There is a distinct change in your cervical mucus when you are close to ovulating -- it changes from being a milky, sticky whitish color to being a clear, flexible, egg-white like substance. By charting your ovulation patterns and by having intercourse every other day (not every day) during your most fertile time, you will increase your chances of getting pregnant.
Don't stress out about it too much. Many, many couples take longer than a few months to get pregnant. Good luck!

Hello... Thanks for your advise. I am 7 weeks pregnant although when did an u/s scan it came out as 5-6 weeks of pregnancy.(My periods are normal 27-28 days cycle). There was no fetal pole and heartbeat but a gestational , yolk sac is seen. Doctor has advised scan after 10 days and said this will be the max waiting time for a fetal heartbeat. I am advised to take hormonal tablets (Conest). I am very much worried and really hoping the best for my baby. Can you please tell me how much possibility is there for a fetal heartbeat and fetaql pole after 10 days. Thanks in advance.
