Just curious what temperature has to do with ovulation..... If its higher does that mean one could be ovulating?

This is the best explanation from American Pregnancy: Fertility Awareness:
"Basal body temperature method: Your basal body temperature measures a change in the temperature that occurs after ovulation and remains elevated until your next period. By looking at charting from a few cycles, the temperatures can reveal a pattern from which ovulation can be anticipated."

Hi,

The short answer: there is up to a 20% chance during this cycle, and today may be one of your more "fertile days"!

The long answer:
If you have a "perfect" 28-day cycle, was the date of your LMP (last menstrual period) on April 29th?

If you know your period is due on May 28th, then you just count backwards to know when your most fertile days are projected to be. The days that most women are most fertile are days 11-21 of their cycle. To put that in calendar dates, that would mean May 10th-May 20th would be your most fertile days. Today is May 12, so you are definitely in that window.

Do you know when you ovulate?
There is such a large window of potential fertile days, because women can ovulate anywhere from 9-16 days before their menstrual period---and that is just an average. Some women might even miss ovulating during a cycle. If you do ovulate within that time frame, the egg lives about 24 hours (if not fertilized), and sperm can live up to 3 days before reaching the egg; all of these factors are included in this time frame, but you can see how it can be a "hit or miss", and there is about a 20% chance of pregnancy during each cycle.

Do you know the signs of ovulation?
You can read more about signs of ovulation here to increase your chances.

I'm curious--how long have you been trying to get pregnant? Are you using any ovulation kits or checking your temperature or anything?
